For over three centuries, without interruption, the Góngora have dedicated their activities to the production of wines and other alcoholic beverages. A story that began in 1682 on the estate called "Pata de Hierro" of Villanueva del Ariscal (Sevilla), thanks to the initiative of Don José de Góngora and Plowing, who acquired the former Hacienda and decided to make wine for aging and aging of fine wines and generous.
Located in Seville Aljarafe earth with a great Vitinícola tradition since the time of the Roman Seville, as evidenced chronic preserved at the time, and has special features for growing grapes. The lands are albarizas (geologically are yellow marl from the Tertiary), known for its ability to retain water despite the lack of rain, which allow good maturation of the grapes. The strains produced mostly Garrido Fino grapes variety, excellent quality and very suitable for the production of white, fine wines and generous. Likewise, there are strains of grape varieties Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel, ideal for making sweet wines.
The wines produced in these wineries are mostly fine and generous wines, many of them obtained screeds with over 100 years of age, as in the case of "IMPERIAL Selection" Gongora. In turn, we also produce excellent white wines as the "Señorío de Heliche" (Semi-Dry) and the "Marqués de Eliche" (Seco), noted for its quality and pleasant taste. Finally, note our Brandy Old "Góngora, Gran Reserva", distilled from a hearth over 70 years and considered one of the best and most exquisite brandies of our country.
