CRUCES DE MAYO IN BERROCAL
Held the first weekend in May. The party made up of two crosses, Cross Cross Up and Down, whose rivalry has been documented since the XV- XVI centuries . Each Cross has its own Brotherhood , and both organized festive events on the same day , although in different times and spaces . The party starts on Friday with the displacement of men from the village to the countryside for " Rosemary Short " . On Saturday preparing the "beasts " ( a pair of mules by each Brotherhood ) , tackle ataviándolas with gold-embroidered velvet , with halters and tail adorned . While charging rosemary bundles beasts proceed to the departure of the ' lads of the Flag ' , which will be the stars of the day, cheers and cries of women. Then the boy climbed a mule flag sticks in the bundle of rosemary that has the animal and, coming to his hermitage , the rosemary unnail offering to the Holy Cross . Both sororities perform the same acts in succession , leading then crosses to the church where they remain until the next day , Sunday. Sunday is the solemn day of the Cross, where , after the celebration of the Eucharist in honor of the Holy Cross , both guilds are paraded through the village accompanied by the brothers and sisters and bands.
